Daily reading: Friday 6 November 2026
(No issue yesterday because Medium’s digest didn’t arrive.)
Today’s theme: running agents at scale. This week you’ve seen what to wrap around one agent (harness, specs, cost). Today is about many agents at once: orchestrators, infrastructure and caching.
Read first (about 25 min)
Section titled “Read first (about 25 min)”- OpenAI just open-sourced Symphony (Code&future, Towards Deep Learning, 6 min) This is OpenAI’s coding-agent orchestrator. Relates to: Orca, which you use. Symphony tackles the same problem, running many coding agents in parallel, so compare how it isolates and coordinates agents against Orca’s worktree-per-agent model.
- Your agent stack is fast until Kubernetes load-balances it (Agent Native, 9 min, from a writer you follow) Relates to: Monday’s “Multi-agent AI for a 100 GB data warehouse”. Once agents run as services, ordinary infrastructure such as load balancers starts to matter. It’s the first Platform & infra pick that’s really about agents.
- Context engineering is dead. Long live cache engineering. (Agent Native, 9 min, from a writer you follow) Relates to: Wednesday’s “Microsoft made Claude Code 31% cheaper”. Caching is the other main lever on agent cost and speed.
If you have time
Section titled “If you have time”- Stop mixing RAG, knowledge graphs, semantic layers and agents (Thilo Hermann, GoPenAI, 8 min) Relates to: Monday’s Netflix knowledge-graph article and Wednesday’s OxiRS pick. It’s a useful map of which of these terms means what.
- Rust & Wasm: building fast HTTP services with cargo-component (Anshu Singhal, 12 min) Relates to: Tuesday’s “Rust + WebAssembly as the secret backend”. That one gave the why, and this one is hands-on.
- The 30MB Rust browser for AI news pipelines (Monika Singhal, 9 min) Relates to: your Electron vs native thread. A 30 MB browser engine is the opposite end from Electron’s bundled Chromium.
Skipped
Section titled “Skipped”- Four Claude mods and skills listicles, “Top 10 secrets management tools”, the uncensored image generators piece, the Midjourney chatbot piece, the ChatGPT ads take, and the Claude Code /storage quick tip. The CPU history story (IBM and out-of-order execution) is a good read but off your topics.
Note: links between pieces are based on digest blurbs only.
